Recession out for season
Smart hurdler Recession Proof is to miss the rest of the season.
The John Quinn-trained six-year-old was a highly creditable fifth in last year's Supreme Novices' Hurdle, but has not run since.
Quinn's son, Sean, tweeted: "I'm sad to report Recession Proof will not be seen again this season after re-injuring himself at home. That's the downside to the jumps game. We're all gutted as we had him so close to a comeback."
Recession Proof had gone to Cheltenham on the back of victory in the valuable totesport Trophy (now Betfair Hurdle) at Newbury.
