The Minack

Minack future hangs in balance

The Minack may have run his last race after picking up an injury when falling at Ascot on Saturday.

Paul Nicholls' eight-year-old had won both his races this season and had flown up the handicap as a result. He was still in with a chance in the race won by Massini's Maguire yesterday when he fell seven fences from home.

Nicholls tweeted: "Not a great day!! Topped by The Minack suffering serious career-threatening injury."

Late on Saturday evening The Minack was scratched from the Cheltenham Gold Cup.
