Ascot, Haydock & Huntingdon
Some worthwhile prize money on offer at both Ascot and Haydock and both courses have attracted stars of the winter scene. Master Minded reappears and surprisingly he only reaches 8 in the new year, he seems to have been around for ages. Albertas Run, certain to improve for his Aintree run is a worthy opponent, the other major race at Ascot is the Coral hurdle, last years winner Zaynar bids to repeat his success this time under Barry Geraghty, at the prices Restless Harry appeals as the each way selection provided the eight stand their ground.

It was always the plan the Gold Cup winner Imperial Commander would make his seasonal appearance in the Betfair chase, and I can find no reason to oppose him.  A good supporting card with the three mile handicap hurdle over the brush obstacles really competitive, last weeks Cheltenham winner Grand Crus is likely to be all the rage, but for an outsider I like the look of Thelobstercatcher who bolted up at Chepstow last time and may just be on the improve.  Huntingdon have lost their channel four spot this season and their highlight is the veterans chase, Il Duce missed the Paddy Power last weekend and with the Alan King stable in fantastic form may land this.
