Captain’s Blog October 29
Many thanks to Alverton and Robertandsue for their kind words as regards my blog yesterday and hopefully they backed my sole selection, Runshan who obliged at 9/2. I am looking to repeat the dose and end this month on a real high. Frankie Dettori is certainly ending it on the up and his treble at Lingfield yesterday saw him at his very best. He managed to beat Ryan Moore twice in tight finishes and on each occasion the margin of victory was a nose. The mere fact that he won by a nose is irrelevant, it was his understanding of pace that was so impressive. We all know that it is tough to make all the running at Lingfield, the configuration of the track has always meant it was thus, but it is not impossible as Dettori proved on Baila Me yesterday, pure class from a great jockey.
There is some good Racing on your favourite racing Channel today. We will be bringing you all the action from Newmarket and Wetherby. Nick Luck is the 4/9 Favourite with Boylesports for HWPA Broadcaster of the year award and it will be a surprise to his adoring fans if he gets turned over. He has always timed his run well in this race and saves some of his best performances for his time of year when some of his opponents are suffering burn out. More reason therefore for you to tune in today and if you cannot find any winners at the moment that 4/9 is still available I believe.
I am going to cut the blog short today as I need to get to Tesco, as I always do on a Friday and I am also booked in for a one hour circuit training session in the Gym at 11.00am which will be agony, but no pain no gain as they say.
