Captain’s Blog March 02
It felt like Spring yesterday and today is much the same. As I began to sort the garden out yesterday I felt so much better for it being mild and sunny. The garden has suffered during what has been a harsh winter and I have a real task on my hands to get it up to scratch for the Summer. I have taken a risk by putting all my pot plants back outside. I always bring them under cover for the Winter but the 1st of March is when they went outside last year and survived so I am following the same tried and tested route. My task today is to get the steam cleaner out to wash the decking and patio which should be interesting given that I have never used it before. I will probably end up soaked to the skin, but all in a good cause I guess.
Currently, I am watching England take on Bangladesh in the second one day International and the home team look as if they are going to post a big score which will put the England batsmen under pressue. No man is under more pressure than Kevin Pietersen who cannot buy a run at the moment. He is clearly very low on confidence, but today could be the launch pad for a return to form for him. Given the score that Bangladesh look like posting somebody will have to step up to the mark big time.
No luck with our selection, Kames Park, at Wolverhampton yesterday who returned to his former ways of being reluctant under pressure. He has been very consistent this winter but sods law he decided to have an off day on the day when we backed him. Thats the way it goes I guess and with a bit of luck we can find a profit today. Catterick has got the all clear for their meeting today and you will be able to see it live on Racing UK this afternoon. I am back in the studio tomorrow and if the weather holds I will be cranking the bike into action. For now I will leave you to go and figure out how that steam cleaner works.
All the Best
