Tanya's Blog, April 15

More of the same today on Racing UK with a double-header to delight, yet I still can’t buy a winner as I’m going through a horrendous run of late.  Hopefully I’m going to get a break on Saturday and disappear for a few days so I can freshen up for Sandown’s Bet365 Gold Cup weekend and then a busy May.

My hopes today are pinned firmly on Barney McGrew, who I thought ran a stormer at Doncaster on Lincoln Day, he finished so strongly Phillip Makin did well to pull him up and although Michael Dods hasn’t been in top form, this is just the horse to kick-start the run.

In your papers Squall is 7-4 favourite but he has taken a walk on the exchanges out to 4-1 now, with Chiefdom Prince and Diesentric battling it out for favouritism.  However, I will stick with Squall, probably more fool me, but Jeremy Noseda’s runners aren’t running that badly.

Elusive Pimpernel had a racecourse gallop at Kempton on Easter Saturday, to no doubt blast the cobwebs out and the Rowley Mile course will play to his strengths, he could start odds-on.

At Cheltenham I want to be on Spring Jim in the first as he ran well at the Festival.
