Tanya’s Blog - Big Buck’s was quite simply imperious on Saturday

Big Buck’s was quite simply imperious on Saturday and was a joy to watch and it is great to see that owner Dai Walters fancies the challenge of taking him on, with Oscar Whisky.  It is hard to see him ever meeting with defeat but I thought that with the Green Bay Packers last night, their 14th task, like Big Buck’s at the weekend, looked a formality, but not so!  The anticipation and excitement mounts for Big Buck’s next start.

Countdown continues to Boxing Day and King George fever is filling up Kempton’s stands, so if you fancy being there live book now as they say to avoid disappointment.  The Channel 4 Racing offices will be buzzing over the next few days as we make preparations for this fabulously exciting day.

At the time of writing though I’m watching Pakistan v Bangladesh on Sky Sports, cricket seems to be played every day which is fantastic, it keeps me engrossed and until the racing starts this afternoon, that’s what I’ll be watching.

The ground was frozen solid this morning and but it hasn’t effected nearby Plumpton or any of the other meetings racing today.  Bangor has a card to entertain and I have checked out the exchanges.  TAFIKA catches the eye in Bangor’s first race as he now boasts favouritism.  His last run back in February can be ignored as the heavy ground counted against him.  Other than the first race A P McCoy should have a productive day at the course and at Plumpton I am to follow young Brendan Powell who could teams up with many leading chances such as Ohio Gold and Near The Water.
