Kiwi Bay deserves immediate compensation after his lone effort in the Spring Mile at Doncaster at the beginning of the turf season.  He ploughed a lone furrow, well it seemed that way as the others who were on his side were detached.  He finally managed a brilliant fifth and a repeat should suffice in Pontefract’s 3.20pm.

Mark Johnston has a blinding record in Ponty’s 2.50pm, he targets the race with his last six runners providing three wins and two places.  He runs Suyoof.

Great race for Ponty’s 4.20pm, I seem strangely drawn to Camps Bay, especially now under the care of an in form Dandy Nicholls and if not him I prefer the lower scale of the weights so I may also be having an interest in Unbreak My Heart.  John Quinn trains Mr Wolf and the horse is a must each-way on his favourite track even though it is his seasonal debut.  Somehow I think that could work in his favour as he could be hard to peg back when fresh.

Notebook at the ready for Yarmouth with the potential for many future winners.  But if you are looking for one today, Frankie Dettori and Michael Jarvis team up in the first with Towbaat.

TANYA’S POINTERS

Richard Fahey’s runners are on fire, stable in form is an understatement and he has had seven winners from his last 11 runners on the flat

David Nicholls string is starting to warm up with four winners, a second and three thirds from his last 12 runners

Adrian Nicholls has ridden all but one of the above four for his father so he is benefitting from a good start

Michael Jarvis is the trainer to follow at Pontefract, last year he had five winners from his 14 runners

Sir Michael Stoute does well with his Yarmouth representatives with six winners from 15 runners at the course in 2009

William Buick has had five winners and two seconds from his last eleven rides

It’s on the homepage of the Racing Post website and shouldn’t be ignored, Mr Wolf is a Pontefract Course Specialist from 20 runs at the course he has won seven times, second four times and third on three occasions
