Tanya's Blog - Money seems to be pouring on Camelot to win in Saturday’s Racing Post Trophy
Money seems to be pouring on Camelot and not just the lottery, no the equine version to win not only Saturday’s Racing Post Trophy but next year’s Investec Derby, can’t wait to get up to Donny and see him run! So much confidence, yet I think Fencing and Zip Top may prove stern tests.
Just checked the exchanges at the time of writing (10.30am) and at Fontwell COOLAGAD WONDER (3.25) and DOUBLE CHOCOLATE (4.00) caught the eye. David Bridgwater is enjoying a good spell at present so the latter is well worth watching. BANKSTAIR later in the card at 5.05 has also gathered some support.
Yet the biggest set of funds queuing up is on FULNEY in Newmarket’s 1.30 so won’t be long before we know the fate of that runner.
Just got sent via email the final 24 for Betting Shop Manager of the Year, congratulations to all who have reached this far, I love being one of the judges for this and every year it is so much fun meeting some of the real grafters of our sport. The unsung heroes behind the counter who work all hours and deal help create the banter which we all love.
This award is so important as it gives Betting Shop staff a tiny bit of recognition, even though they deserve so much more. At the same time judging this event gives me insight into where racing and all the other sports are in popularity when it comes to betting. It’s a real eye opener.
