Looking ahead to Chepstow, Fakenham, Huntingdon and Plumpton
Not only does the South East have most of the racing today it also provides the best ground, just on the soft side of good for both Fakenham and Huntingdon. Time for Wetherby to resurrect their once very successful and attractive Easter Monday meeting to cater for a gap in the middle of the country for racegoers.
A booking which caught my eye was the one of Dougie Costello at Fakenham for bottom weight Sir Punjabi for Lucy Wadham. A cast iron each way chance, at Huntingdon Ashfields Dream looks the best bet on the card in the novice hurdle, with Alfadora off his light weight in the handicap chase holding an each way chance. Chepstow will be near unraceable again and may be best avoided with almost half the fences omitted per circuit, and the decent novice King Edmund should supplement his earlier course and distance win at Plumpton.
