Tanya’s Blog - 8,615 punnets of strawberries are eaten every

8,615 punnets of strawberries are eaten every year at Wimbledon, I’ve yet to have one strawberry this month. I can’t believe one supermarket is selling Strawberries and cream sandwiches, and people are buying them!!!! I digress, what is needed is a winner today. There may be a bumper crop of strawberries but during June this year, successes have been very scarce for me.

EXECUTIVE’S HALL and Andrew Tinkler make a great team, they should keep their perfect record in Market Rasen’s 4.25, while AYE AYE DIGBY ought to land Folkestone’s 3.05, I don’t know what happened to him last tie at Windsor and Brighton before that but surely his form hasn’t deteriorated so much in just two races.  If he does return to some semblance of form it will certainly give a big pointer to We Have A Dream later on in Folkestone’s card.

Texas play tonight at Newmarket’s evening meeting.  Last week the betting ring there was very weak, bookmakers scared of their own shadows let alone the punters.  Turnover is minimal and as Neal Faulkner said when I interviewed him last Saturday they just take the money chuck it in the bag and hope for the best.  I believe there is some more science and mathematics involved than that.  My racecard selections for the meeting tonight are 6.00 Burning Stone, 6.30 Gamilati, 7.05 Janet’s Pearl, 7.35 Mokalif, 8.05 Puff, 8.40 Ivan Vasilevich and 9.10 Lucky Art.

POINTERS

Brian Ellison has had five winners and two thirds from his last 14 runners

Lee Newman has had five winners from his last ten rides

Kieren Fallon has had six winners, three seconds and a third from his last 16 rides

Andrew Tinkler and Executive’s Hall are three from three together according to Signposts page 20 in today’s Racing Post they go in Market Rasen’s 4.25

Tim Easterby has won with both his runners in Doncaster’s 3.25

Other than in Newmarket’s 7.05, favourites are to be avoided at the remainder of the meeting this evening
