What an intense frenzy over Penitent in the Lincoln, should we really be jumping on the short priced favourite bandwagon tomorrow? Is he a certainty or can something pounce and continue the misery for punters from the Cheltenham Festival? Questions all to be answered, meanwhile there is much to enjoy of the jump season still, starting with a cracking card at Newbury today.
Put a line through Soleil Fix’s last three runs, two Cheltenham Cross Country Chases and the Topham at Aintree and he becomes a live betting proposition as prior to that he was a solid second to Pretty Star at Fontwell, he runs in Newbury’s 2.20.
Pocket Too is my pick to make amends for his short-head defeat at Sandown at 2.55 and Mohayer can carry top weight around in the 5.15. He has run well at the track when fourth in the 2008 Totesport Trophy.
Racing UK pundit Eddie Freemantle has joined the Racing Post, his insight is not to be missed and he makes his debut in the paper today.
