The workload on the Teddington desk has reduced from the equivalent of ‘The Alps’ to just a few mountains of paperwork still it has been wonderful reading all the feedback from the Cheltenham Festival and gambles that were landed as well as those that went astray.
The about turn from the pinnacle of jump racing to the start of the flat is cause for amnesia as I try and search for relevant footage for the leading protagonists for the William Hill Lincoln at Doncaster on Saturday. The draw for the big race is tomorrow at 11am and it is also prudent to select a horse carrying between 8-9 and 9stone.
As for today the action for Racing UK is at Haydock, Warwick and Kempton this evening. Looking at the Haydock card there is nothing that really stands out and as my luck has gone on holiday since last Thursday, I would be wary of what I pick out but I’d go for Shrewd Investor to repeat his victory of 2009 in the 2.10pm and I like Brooklyn Brownie in the 3.50pm. Let’s see how they go and hopefully we can head into Thursday with a bit more confidence.
