What a card at Sandown Park tonight and Workforce is back!

No sooner have I arrived at the office after ‘Breakfast With The Stars’ at Epsom that it’s time for lunch.  The breakfast buffet laid on at Epsom was superb, John McCririck was even witnessed to be eating fruit.  I took a picture for the records.

Andre Fabre’s attendance made the whole morning, his horse, Pour Moi, to my eye looked mightily impressive, showing very smooth acceleration.  Fabre oozed with confidence in his interview with every word Pour Moi’s price contracted.  In contrast I thought Native Khan appeared lethargic in his work, but I don’t know whether it is a trait of his, it put me off this morning.  270 people were in attendance, all entertained by the interviews and general good atmosphere.

Now supposedly at work I am gutted that it is raining at Cardiff, no cricket action on the goggle box, means it is hard to be entertained at work.  However this evening there is a treat for all.  Free to air, words which are pure poetry to my ears and eyes, 4.45 to 6.25 is just that on Racing UK this evening, five races to sample including Sandown’s first race at 6.00.  What a card and Workforce is back.  I thought he was big at Evens, Sir Michael Stoute announces that he will really need the race and now I can get 6-4!  Beautiful!  I know I couldn’t tip my hat at present, luck has to change at some point.

My racecard selections this evening at Sandown are as follows 6.00 CHAIN OF EVENTS, 6.30 MAGIC CITY, 7.05 BLUE BAJAN, 7.40 WORKFORCE, 8.15 FURY, 8.45 MOYNAHAN, with my nap WORKFORCE and next best MAGIC CITY.

Horses on the drift in the betting are at Brighton 3.40 Bakoura, 5.10 Sherjawy, Ayr 5.20 Blue Charm, Sandown 6.30 Bannock.

POINTERS

Richard Hannon’s last ten runners in Sandown 6.30 – National Stakes – have resulted in four winners, he runs the well supported Magic City

Richard Hughes has been the beneficiary of Richard Hannon’s success with three winners from his last seven rides in the race

Frankie Dettori tends to be worth following in the Henry II Stakes, Sandown’s 7.05, he has won the race three times in the last ten years and rides Holberg today

The fate of the favourites in the Brigadier Gerard Stakes recently has been well documented, Workforce will have to defy the fact only one jolly has won in the last ten years

Five of the last ten favourites have won Sandown’s 8.45

John Gosden and William Buick have a 33% strike rate when they team up at Sandown, not a bad strike rate from 27 runners

Matthew Davies has ridden six of his last seven rides to victory

Kevin Ryan has had three winners from his last five runners

Ryan Moore has ridden Workforce five times to three victories
