Didn’t see a Stan Lee cameo yesterday, did you?  Which is the norm for any Marvel hero performance.  That’s right Frankel isn’t part of the Marvel franchise, well not yet anyway.  Move over Thor, Iron Man, Hulk and Captain America, you’ve got nothing on Frankel, who just destroyed his opposition in emphatic and memorable fashion.  Quite simply it was a procession.    The market or should I say exchanges told you, in fact shouted at you with a megaphone, that Pathfork was not going to be his main danger, I think they are still looking for him now.  The exchanges were always three points bigger which should have meant Frankel being 1-4 or shorter.  Don’t say I didn’t warn you from a long way out what he represented.     While we try and come to terms with the latest natural phenomenon in Frankel, it’s the fillies’ turn today in the Qipco 1000 Guineas.  There has been a trend since the start of the week, the confidence behind Hooray has just grown and grown and grown, since Friday she has shortened from 10-1 to 7-1.  She is the best filly in the field but she is 7-1 instead of 7-4 because we don’t know she stays having not run beyond 6 furlongs but we do at least now have a pretty good idea she has trained on, otherwise I can imagine her drifting like Pathfork.     Moonlight Cloud’s position at the top of the market wavered last night at about 8.30 when she surrendered to Memory but on turning on the computer again at 6am I see she is back on top.  Back in France, in their press rooms and today it will be Saint-Cloud they have the belief they are bringing the 1000 Guineas back across The Channel courtesy with either Moonlight Cloud or NOVA HAWK.  The latter made giant strides in winning on her seasonal reappearance and the vibes are good.  She is my each-way selection.  However now the money is down on HOORAY it would be silly not to follow it.  There would be nothing better than Sir Mark Prescott winning a British Classic.   As for the rest of the card, Sir Michael Stoute is attempting to win his fifth Dahlia Stakes, this time around it is with ELEANORA DUSE.  The 3.50 is so wide open, all the usual suspects and its great to see them back in one race, I have to go with HAWKEYETHENOO.     IZZI TOP was entered for the Guineas but instead opts for a much easier 5.00 and ART HISTORY should land the 5.35.   Hopefully though, today there will be three cheers for Sir Mark Prescott, Hip Hip HOORAY…….   QIPCO 1000 GUINEAS POINTERS   6 winners since 1990 had run in the Dubai Duty Free Stakes on their most recent start.   Only 8 of the last 20 winners were having their seasonal debut   6 of the last 8 had won on their most recent start   14 of the last 20 winners had run at either Newmarket or Newbury on their most recent start.   18 of last 21 winners had three or more races prior to the Guineas   16 of the last 21 winners had won on their very first start as a two-year-old   19 of the last 22 winners raced in Group class last time out   Only one of the last 20 winners has been priced bigger than 14-1   17 of the last 20 winners raced in Group class last time   Horses priced 25-1 or bigger have provided 0 winners from their last 141 runners   Trainers from Lambourn/Wiltshire have provided only 3 winners from their last 102 runners   NEWMARKET 2.05   Only one winning favourite since 2000   In the last ten years no winner has carried more than 9-2 to victory   NEWMARKET 2.35   Only one winner priced in double figures   Sir Michael Stoute going for his fifth straight win   NEWMARKET 3.50   Nine of the last ten winners were drawn 13 or above   The last seven winners all carried 8-13 or less   The last seven favourites have all been beaten
