Three meetings this afternoon with jumps action from Kelso and Lingfield and all-weather action from Wolverhampton. Kelso’s hunter chase at 4.40 looks a decent race for its type with two of the North’s top pointers doing battle in Quotica De Poyans and Robbers Glen. The former has looked on upward curve this season already winning over today’s course twice in the last two months. The 7yo looks to have more on his plate today with Robbers Glen in opposition. Val Jackson’s 11yo has mixed it with some of the best hunter chasers in recent years and is still very much a force to be respected in Northern hunter chases. Successful in both points this year the veteran hunter is looking for his fourth win at the Scottish venue. The pair look head shoulders above the rest and are capable of fighting out the finish with Robbers Glen the value at the forecasted prices. Earlier on the card Wyse Hill Teabags will be looking to follow up his excellent previous run in the opening novices hurdle. Jim Goldie’s 6yo ran a cracker over course and distance in a Grade 2 event earlier this month and should take the beating if matching that form. The bumper at the end of the card looks an above average event for the course with Irish import Roger Beantown taking the eye. Bought out of Tom Hogan’s yard after winning on his debut at Thurles the son of Indian Danehill is well regarded by new connections. It will be interesting to see how he fares on his UK debut against some decent looking opposition in Harvey’s Hope and Turbolinas.
